Bacillus Megaterium

Short Description:

The Bacillus megaterium is a Gram-positive bacterium that is widely present in soil and plants. It has excellent biological safety and environmental adaptability, and can survive in various soil and climatic conditions. It can produce a variety of enzymes and beneficial metabolites, which help improve soil structure and promote plant growth, thus becoming an important force in the modern agricultural “green revolution”.

    1. Improving soil structure and enhancing soil health

Soil is the foundation for plant growth. Bacillus megaterium can decompose organic residues in the soil, activate the soil microbial ecosystem, improve soil permeability and water retention. It can also release nutrients, making the soil more fertile and effectively alleviating soil compaction and barrenness caused by excessive fertilization or land degradation.

    2. Promoting root system development

This strain can produce growth hormones and root-promoting factors, stimulating root expansion and elongated growth, helping plants better absorb water and nutrients, enhancing resilience, and increasing crop yield and quality.

    3. Enhancing disease resistance and reducing disease occurrence

Bacillus megaterium helps inhibit harmful pathogens in the soil and roots, such as root rot and wilt, through competitive antagonism and the production of antibacterial substances. Like a natural “immune barrier”, it can significantly reduce the frequency of chemical pesticide use.

    4. Improving nutrient utilization and saving fertilizer costs

This strain can produce multiple enzymes (such as amylase, protease, and cellulase), helping to break down minerals that plants cannot absorb, increasing the effective utilization rate of nutrients, thereby reducing fertilizer application and reducing environmental pollution.

    Application Scope

    1. Soil types: Continuous cropping land, compacted soil, saline-alkali soil, aged soil with long-term over chemical fertilization

    2. Crops: Field crops (wheat, corn, rice); vegetables (tomato, cucumber, pepper, strawberry); fruit trees (citrus, apple, grape, kiwi); Chinese medicinal herbs (ginseng, astragalus, licorice); flowers, seedlings and turf

    3. Raw material for fertilizer production: Bio-organic fertilizer, compound microbial fertilizer, water-soluble microbial fertilizer, microbial agent for seedling substrate

    4. Other applications: Livestock manure composting, aquaculture water microecology regulation

    Advantages

    1. Strains screened from local soil, featuring strong environmental adaptability, good rhizosphere colonization and stable phosphate-solubilizing performance.

    2. High spore rate, strong stress resistance, stable shelf life and low viable loss during long-distance transportation.

    3. Low impurity, fine powder with good fluidity, easy for fertilizer factory mixing, suitable for water-soluble and drip irrigation application.

    4. Complete strain documents, test reports available, support documents for fertilizer registration.

    5. Customized CFU, customized packaging and OEM service available.

    Specific application methods

    1. Soil pretreatment

Before spring sowing or planting, mix the microbial agent with organic fertilizer and evenly apply it to the soil to form a beneficial microbial community. This not only improves the soil structure but also stimulates the activity of soil microorganisms, providing a favorable growth environment for crops.

    2. Seed coating or seed dressing

Mix the microbial agent with an appropriate amount of water, and soak or wrap the seeds for several hours. This helps to increase the germination rate, enhance the stress resistance of seedlings, and promote the early development of root systems.

    3. Root drenching or foliar spraying

During the growth of crops, apply the microbial agent solution by drenching the roots or spraying on the leaves. This can activate the root system, improve nutrient absorption, and enhance the disease resistance.

    4. Addition to base fertilizer or topdressing

When applying base fertilizer or topdressing, add the microbial agent. This can continuously improve the soil microecology and promote the healthy growth of crops.
