Discussion on the prevention of fruit cracking by the combination of gibberellic acid and surfactant

   Gibberellin is a kind of tetracyclic diterpene plant hormone, and its basic structure is 20 carbon gibberelline. Gibberellin, as a common high-efficiency and broad-spectrum plant growth regulating hormone, plays an important role in regulating the growth of plant buds, leaves, flowers and fruits.

 Causes of fruit cracking

  Fruit cracking is a phenomenon of plant physiological imbalance. The fundamental reason is that the peel growth can not adapt to the fruit pulp growth. After the research and summary of scholars, the influencing factors leading to fruit cracking are: the turgor pressure on the peel, the uncoordinated growth rate of pulp and peel, the elasticity of fruit skin and the structure of fruit skin. Among them, the swelling pressure of pericarp was affected by water and the contents of gibberellin and abscisic acid; The mechanical strength of pericarp was affected by calcium content and cell wall components; Pericarp extensibility is affected by cell wall relaxation gene. When the swelling pressure, mechanical strength and extensibility of the pericarp are unbalanced, fruit cracking occurs.

  In the rainy season, too much water will increase the swelling pressure of the peel, resulting in fruit cracking. In dry and rainy months, the fruit grows faster than the peel. When the rainy season comes, the plants quickly absorb water and nutrients. The imbalance of growth rate between fruit and pericarp and the increase of pericarp swelling pressure lead to fruit cracking. Spraying gas on plant fruit to balance the pressure system of peel and pulp can prevent fruit cracking.

  At present, some literatures and experimental records show that this kind of surfactant has limited synergistic effect on gibberellin growth regulators. Blindly emphasizing the synergistic effect of additives will increase the cost of growers. Therefore, we suggest that the reasonable combination of growth regulators and additives should be scientifically combined according to the characteristics and needs of vegetables and fruits in different growth stages.

Film forming on leaves or fruits can reduce the scouring of rainwater on effective components such as growth regulators and fungicides, avoid repeated application and reduce costs.

Form a sunscreen protective layer on the leaf surface and fruit surface, effectively reduce the damage caused by ultraviolet and sunshine under the hot sun, and play the role of water locking and anti transpiration.

Balance the expansion system between fruit and peel to prevent cracking.

After spraying quantitative growth regulator to improve fruit coloring, it can be sprayed to prolong the fruit supply period.

Combined with growth regulators, it provides all-round guarantee for fruits and vegetables at different growth stages.
