Public Health hesperidin methyl chalcone is a compound derived from hesperidin. Hesperidin is an antioxidant bioflavonoid found in large quantities in citrus fruits. Most people get some hesperidin and other bioflavonoids naturally through diet. People who are deficient in hesperidin can experience abnormal capillary leakiness, leg aches and leg swelling. Hesperidin and derivatives like hesperidin methyl chalcone strengthen and protect capillaries and small veins so they are less likely to leak fluid into the surrounding tissue.

Methyl hesperidine is a methylated derivative of citrus Flavonoid hesperidine. The methylated derivatives are of two types with ring closed during methylation and ring open during methylation, which respectively yields methylhesperidine and hesperidine methyl chalcone.
