How are sanitation pesticides used?

Hygienic pesticides refer to agents that are mainly used in the field of public health to control vector organisms and pests that affect people’s lives. It mainly includes agents for controlling vector organisms and pests such as mosquitoes, flies, fleas, cockroaches, mites, ticks, ants and rats. So how should sanitation pesticides be used?

Rodenticides The rodenticides we use generally use second-generation anticoagulants. The main mechanism of action is to destroy the hematopoietic mechanism of rodents, causing internal hemorrhage and death of rodents. Compared with the traditional highly toxic rat poison, the second-generation anticoagulant has the following characteristics:

1. Safety. The second-generation anticoagulant has a longer action time, and once an accident occurs, it will take a longer time for treatment; and the antidote of the second-generation anticoagulant such as bromadiolone is vitamin K1, which is relatively easy to obtain. Highly poisonous rat poisons such as tetramine work quickly and accidents of accidental ingestion leave us with a short reaction time and no antidote, which can easily cause personal injury or death.

2. Good palatability. The new rat bait has good palatability to rats and is not easy to cause rats to refuse to eat, thus achieving the effect of poisoning rats.

3. Good killing effect. The killing effect mentioned here is mainly aimed at the novel object avoidance response of mice. Rats are suspicious by nature, and when encountering new things or food, they will often adopt some tentative means, such as taking a small amount of food or letting the old and weak eat first, and other members of the population will determine whether it is safe or not based on the results of these tentative behaviors. Therefore, the highly toxic rat poison often achieves a certain effect at the beginning, and then the effect goes from bad to worse. The reason is very simple: the rats that have eaten the rat bait pass the “dangerous” message to other members, resulting in food refusal, avoidance, etc. Wait for the reaction, and the result of the bad effect in the later stage will be a matter of course. However, the second-generation anticoagulants often give mice a false message of “safety” due to their longer incubation period (generally 5-7 days), so it is easier to obtain long-term, stable and effective rodent control effects.

In regular PMP companies, the insecticides used are generally pyrethroids, such as cypermethrin and cyhalothrin. Compared with organic phosphorus such as dichlorvos, zinc thion, dimethoate, etc., these have the advantages of safety, less toxic and side effects, easy degradation, and less impact on the environment and the human body itself. At the same time, formal PMP companies will try their best to use physical methods or use biological agents in places where the use of pyrethroids is not suitable, instead of simply using organic phosphorus instead, so as to reduce chemical pollution in the process of pest control. Mosquito-repellent incense Because from the perspective of medical care, the use of insecticides should be done in moderation.

All kinds of insecticides sold in the market can be divided into three levels according to their toxicity: highly toxic, moderately toxic and lowly toxic. Even low-toxic pesticides are more toxic to humans and animals, and highly toxic pesticides are even more harmful. From a scientific point of view, mosquito coils are also a kind of insecticide. When the mosquito coils are ignited or heated, these insecticides will be released. Therefore, it can be said that no mosquito coils are harmful to humans and animals. The insecticides in mosquito coils are not only acutely toxic to humans, but also chronically toxic. Even the slightly toxic insecticides of the acute toxicity level are more harmful to humans and animals; as for its chronic toxicity, it is even more deadly. Based on the comprehensive evaluation of the tests, it can be seen that the chronic toxicity of pesticides is more harmful to the human body and more complicated.
