ENTRAPMENT® insecticides are registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and can be used on all agricultural crops.

This type of physical insecticide is one of the most widely registered active ingredients on the market, providing the greatest flexibility of application and improving resource efficiency in crop production.
Boca Raton, Fla., March 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Attune Agriculture, a leading developer of high-performance agricultural products using hydrocolloid technology, announced that its Entropment insecticide has received EPA approval to expand its coverage to all EPA-regulated crop categories. Entropment can now be sprayed on any plant, regardless of environmental conditions, including cropland, ornamentals, greenhouses, managed agriculture, golf courses, turf, and more. The EPA also approved an expanded list of pests for Entropment.
The physical mechanism of action of trap-based insecticides is to transform each droplet of the mixed solution into a potential trap on the plant surface. Developed using Rhexalloid® technology, this insecticide utilizes rheological principles to encapsulate, trap, and immobilize pests, eliminating the drawbacks of traditional chemical insecticides. Trap-based insecticides require no waiting period, have no restrictions on spraying intervals or application frequency, and have a low risk of resistance development. Therefore, they can be safely used regardless of the activity level of beneficial and pollinating insects.
The expanded pest list includes difficult-to-control insects such as the spotted wing fruit fly, which attacks soft-skinned fruits, cotton aphids, southern and hairy lawn bugs, and spotted lampreys in vineyards, gardens, and ornamental plants.
”Trapping provides reliable control of a wide variety of pests, including some rare ones, and provides farmers with flexibility in application that most chemical control standards do not,” said Dr. Ed Quattlebaum, director of product development for Attune Agriculture.
Enrapment insecticide can be used alone, in combination with traditional chemical insecticides, or alternately. It slows the development of resistance in pests, thereby prolonging the effectiveness of existing chemical insecticides. The product line includes four formulations, one of which is OMRI-certified.
