DJI drones launch two new types of agricultural drones

On November 23, 2023, DJI Agriculture officially released two agricultural drones, T60 and T25P. T60 focuses on covering agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishing, targeting multiple scenarios such as agricultural spraying, agricultural sowing, fruit tree spraying, fruit tree sowing, aquatic sowing, and forestry aerial defense; T25P is more suitable for single person work, targeting scattered small plots, lightweight, flexible, and convenient for transfer.

Among them, the T60 adopts 56 inch high-strength blades, a heavy-duty motor, and a high-power electric regulator. The single axis comprehensive tensile strength is increased by 33%, and it can also carry out full load broadcasting operations under low battery conditions, providing protection for high-intensity and heavy load operations. It can bear the capacity of 50 kilograms of spraying load and 60 kilograms of broadcasting load.

In terms of software, this year the DJI T60 has been upgraded to Security System 3.0, continuing the design of active phased array radar in the front and rear, and paired with a newly designed three eye fisheye vision system, the observation distance has been increased to 60 meters. The new avionics has increased its computing power by 10 times, combined with the visual radar mapping fusion algorithm, which ensures a high success rate in obstacle avoidance for power poles and trees, while further enhancing its obstacle avoidance ability for difficult scenarios such as dead trees and facing power lines. The industry’s first virtual gimbal can achieve electronic stabilization and smoother images.

Agricultural automation production in mountainous fruit industry has always been a major challenge. DJI Agriculture continues to explore ways to improve fruit tree operations and simplify operations in the field of fruit trees. For orchards with generally simple scenes, T60 can simulate ground flight without aerial testing; Facing complex scenes with many obstacles, using fruit tree mode can also make it easy to fly. The fruit tree mode 4.0 launched this year can achieve data exchange among the three platforms of DJI Intelligent Map, DJI Intelligent Agriculture Platform, and Intelligent Remote Control. The 3D map of the orchard can be shared among three parties, and the fruit tree route can be directly edited through the remote control, making it easy to manage the orchard with just one remote control.

It is understood that in recent years, the proportion of agricultural drone users has been increasing year by year. The newly released T25P is designed to meet the needs of flexible and efficient single person operations. The T25P has a smaller body and weight, with a spraying capacity of 20 kilograms and a broadcasting capacity of 25 kilograms, and also supports multi scene broadcasting operations.

In 2012, DJI applied globally renowned drone technology to the agricultural sector and founded DJI Agriculture in 2015. Nowadays, the footprint of agriculture in DJI has spread across six continents, covering over 100 countries and regions. As of October 2023, the global cumulative sales of DJI agricultural drones have exceeded 300000 units, with a cumulative operating area exceeding 6 billion acres, benefiting hundreds of millions of agricultural practitioners.
