Differences between Permethrin and Dinotefuran

I. Permethrin

1. Basic properties

Permethrin is a synthetic insecticide, and its chemical structure contains the characteristic structure of pyrethroid compounds. It is usually a colorless to light yellow oily liquid with a special odor. It is insoluble in water, readily soluble in organic solvents, stable to light, but prone to decomposition under alkaline conditions.

2. Main Uses

In agriculture: It can be used to control various agricultural pests, such as those on cotton, vegetables, fruit trees and other crops.

In terms of sanitary pest control: It has a good control effect on sanitary pests such as mosquitoes, flies, fleas and lice, and can be used for pest control in households, public places, etc. Through methods such as residual spraying, the risk of pest breeding and disease transmission can be reduced.

II. Dinotefuran

1. Basic properties

Dinotefuran belongs to the third-generation neonicotinoid insecticides. It appears as white crystalline powder.

2. Main Uses

In agriculture, it is mainly used to control aphids, leafhoppers, planthoppers, thrips, whiteflies and their resistant strains on various crops such as wheat, rice, cotton, vegetables, fruit trees and tobacco leaves. At the same time, it is highly effective against Coleoptera, Diptera, Lepidoptera and homoptera pests. It can also be used to control household pests such as cockroaches. Place it in the corners or crevices where cockroaches frequently appear, such as behind cabinets and electrical appliances, and take advantage of its strong permeability to achieve the effect of eliminating cockroaches.

III. Differences between Permethrin and Dinotefuran

1. Regarding toxicity

Regarding the comparison of the toxicity levels of the two, different studies and application scenarios may yield different results. Studies have shown that furosemide has relatively low toxicity and can be used for a long time. However, cyfluthrin (similar to cyfluthrin) is more toxic and should not be used for a long time. But a specific comparison of the toxicity between cyfluthrin and furfuramide still requires more specialized research to determine.

2. Regarding the mechanism of action

Permethrin mainly interferes with the neural conduction system of pests, preventing them from moving normally and eventually causing their death. Furfuran works by interfering with the metabolic system of cockroaches (taking cockroaches as an example, its mechanism of action against other pests is similar), preventing them from growing and reproducing normally. It also has excellent control effects on piercing-sucking mouthparts pests and shows high insecticidal activity at very low doses.

3. Regarding the objects of prevention and control

Permethrin is mainly used to control pests such as mosquitoes, flies, fleas and lice. In agriculture, it can control various crop pests. Fumefon is mainly used to control aphids, leafhoppers, planthoppers and other sucking pests on various crops. It also has a good control effect on household pests such as cockroaches. Moreover, it has an even better control effect on pests that have developed resistance to nicotinoid agents.
