The active ingredient in BASF’s Sunway® Pesticide Aerosol, pyrethrin, is derived from a natural essential oil extracted from the pyrethrum plant. Pyrethrin reacts with light and air in the environment, quickly breaking down into water and carbon dioxide, leaving no residue after use. Pyrethrin also has extremely low toxicity to mammals, making it one of the least toxic active ingredients in existing pesticides. The pyrethrin used in this product is derived from pyrethrum flowers grown in Yuxi, Yunnan Province, one of the world’s three largest pyrethrum growing areas. Its organic origin is certified by two leading national and international certification bodies.
Subhash Makkad, Head of Professional and Specialty Solutions at BASF Asia Pacific, said: “Products and solutions with natural ingredients are increasingly popular with consumers. We are honored to introduce Shuweida Insecticide Aerosol. This summer, Chinese consumers will have a new mosquito repellent that is more convenient and safer. BASF will continue to improve the quality of life of Chinese families through chemical innovation.”
Pyrethrins are harmless to humans and animals, but are deadly to insects. They contain six active insecticidal components that affect the sodium channels of neurons, disrupting the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to impaired motor activity, paralysis and, ultimately, death of insects. In addition to mosquitoes, pyrethrins also have a rapid and effective destructive effect on flies, cockroaches and other insects.
Shuweida aerosol pesticide uses synergistic formula, achieving class A efficiency and killing pests within one minute with 100% lethality. Different from traditional aerosol products, Shuweida aerosol is equipped with an advanced nozzle and metered spray system, which ensures more precise dosage control, reduces waste during application and prevents the negative impact of overuse on humans, animals and the environment.
Pyrethrins are recognized by the organic industry, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and are recognized worldwide as safe and effective pesticide ingredients.
As a household pest control brand, BASF Shuweida is committed to providing homeowners with comprehensive solutions suitable for various pest problems, taking into account environmental conditions and consumer needs, helping users easily control various pests.
